THE FIRST 100
Our first goal is simple: fund 100 FREE castrations for locally owned dogs in Provadia Bulgaria and the surrounding villages.
These dogs already have owners, but many remain uncastrated for different reasons — financial hardship, traditional attitudes, misconceptions that castration is unnatural or makes a dog somehow "less complete", and different cultural attitudes towards dog ownership.
Rather than judging, we want to understand, educate and help.
Through Fix The Future, owners who might otherwise never castrate their dogs will be offered the procedure completely FREE, carried out by our trusted local vet.

Alongside the programme, we'll share regular videos with our vet, local rescuers and people in our community to explore why the problem exists and what we can all do to help change it.

Part 3 - The Puppies Who Should Never Have Needed Rescuing
Today, this little litter is safe.
Marie rescued them after they were abandoned, and now they are receiving their vaccinations, veterinary care, good food and all the love they need while we prepare them for the futures they deserve.
They are the lucky ones.
Because they were found.
Because someone cared.
Because Marie was there to pick up the pieces.
But in a perfect world, these puppies should never have needed rescuing at all.
Somewhere, an uncastrated dog produced an unwanted litter.
Those puppies were then abandoned.
And once again, rescue began at the point where everything had already gone wrong.
This Is Why Fix The Future Matters
For more than 20 years, we have rescued abandoned dogs and unwanted puppies in Bulgaria.
We will continue to do that.
But rescue alone will never be enough.
That is why we launched Fix The Future – The First 100, our local dog castration programme in Provadia, Bulgaria.
Our aim is to fund 100 free castrations for locally owned dogs whose owners might otherwise never have them neutered.
By making dog neutering in Bulgaria more accessible, we hope to reduce unwanted litters before they are born and prevent more puppies from ending up abandoned, homeless or in rescue.
What Does It Cost?
The average cost through our local vet is:
Male dog castration: £60
Female dog spay: £85
Every donation helps us move closer to the next dog and, ultimately, to our first 100.
These puppies will now receive everything they need.
But our hope for the future is simple:
fewer abandoned litters, fewer unwanted puppies and fewer dogs needing rescue in the first place.

We want puppy-dumping season 2027 to look different.
This little puppy was found today, living alone underneath a truck in our town.
No mum. No siblings. No home.
